As a nursing student myself, I can attest to the proven fact that movement and exercise has physical benefits. Of course, there is the obvious in the reduction of various disease risks, but also there is the major benefit of stress reduction.
Oftentimes in today’s world we either moving way too fast, or way too slow. There does not seem to be a comfortable balance we can strike to make us feel grounded. Countless research suggests that stress can actually lead to a physical decrease in our immune system leaving us more vulnerable to illness. So what can we do to alleviate some of this stress?
It may sound crazy, especially to those of you who can barely seem to find a free minute in their schedule, to suggest you now incorporate a movement practice into your routine. But not only is this practice going to reduce stress, but it also will improve your sleep. And we all know restful sleep is essential to living a healthy life.
